About Us
Sea to Sea for PTSD is a Canadian grassroots mental‑health initiative founded by Chad Kennedy, a former Alberta Sheriff Highway Patrol officer and military veteran. After being diagnosed with PTSD in 2018 and nearly taking his own life in August 2020, Chad decided to walk across Canada—from St. John’s, NFLD to Pelee Island, ON—to share his story of trauma, resilience, and healing, and to break stigma around mental‑health challenges faced by first responders, military personnel, veterans, and their families . The movement partners with Can Praxis and campaigns like First Responder Families First, raising funds and awareness while encouraging open conversations about PTSD and occupational stress injuries.
By donating or purchasing branded merchandise, supporters directly help fund therapeutic walks across Alberta, mental‑health education and support programs nationwide, and crucial services for public‑safety and veteran communities
