Is CBRB a Vanity Award? Understanding How the Canadian Business Review Board Works

Businesses that receive a selection notice from the CBRB Canadian Business Review Board sometimes have an understandable question: Do I have to pay to receive this recognition?

The answer is no.

CBRB does not sell business selections. Businesses are first identified, reviewed, and selected through CBRB's business review and selection process. Payment is not required for a business to be selected, and purchasing a package is not a condition of receiving CBRB recognition.

What About Online Claims That CBRB Is a "Vanity Award"?

Online discussions sometimes use the term "vanity award" broadly for private recognition organizations that also sell promotional products or services.

However, simply offering paid promotional upgrades does not mean that recognition itself was purchased.

When evaluating CBRB's model, an important question is:

Does a business have to pay CBRB to be selected and receive basic recognition?
